My Life, My Thoughts…

We tend to challenge life every way possible. We like to live our lives in the most comfortable manner irrespective of the fact if we can afford it or not. These are some random thoughts that are just on my mind and I am going to post it here. Warning: This post might not make any sense but if you can link between the random thoughts, congrats! You’ve successfully understood my post.

I normally choose topics which are easy to blog about. For eg: Sports, Social Media, Picture posts. These are simple topics with facts readily available on the Internet. So I sat down in front of my laptop and wondered “what if I just post something filled with my random thoughts and who cares if it makes sense or not” so here I am sitting and doing exactly that. Call me crazy but this is who I am.

For starters, let me pick on myself. Yeah the way I bully myself. So I am an Indian. You know being born born in a small town (way back in 1980’s) called Puttur located in some corner of Karnataka which is a state of India, and all.. I was pulled out by an Indian doctor by my legs and my cute butt is slapped right in front of all those cute nurses. Now that’s seriously embarrassing! I really wonder how the doctor would feel if someone had held him like that and spanked him! I am then wrapped up like a small chocolate and handed over to my mother who then takes me to a foreign country called ‘Muscat’. My childhood is just plain memories and thoughts of a few friends who I really wonder if I would get a chance to meet again and chat over a coffee. Would love to do that and reminisce those good old days. Oh wait, I don’t even remember my school teachers except for Mr. Burns (History & Class Teacher). Life has been a challenge from the day stepped out of Muscat and moved to India. From an easy-going life to a struggle was not easy but then there were times when I would just say ‘Enough, I can’t live this life any further’ and NO! I would never think about taking the easy way out (which is actually, come to think of it, a not so easy way out). It’s no fun! I would just open a bottle of cold beer and drown the miserable feeling in some fermented barley and yeast :). Yeah, that’s better.

I am still living my life after all the challenges. We tend to revolve only around one fact and that’s money. We work for money, if we’re not spending the money we’re thinking of ways to spend the money. It’s like without money the human race would never exist. Why is that? Well, It’s our fault and nobody else is to blame (oh come on, are you going to blame your dog?). I am sure party life never existed decades ago and pubs that would wait to suck your money out were just a ‘thought’. Our needs have created so many solutions that each solution just needs more money which we have earned after struggling for hours. Yes, I have my needs and I do depend on these solutions but let’s ask ourselves one thing, do we actually need to spend so much or just spend as much as our requirement is?
I am really not sure if anything I said made any sense but these are just random thoughts that came in to my mind and I thought I should just write them down so that on a later stage in life I could just sit back and read it to wonder what a fool I was. Yeah, I still have to work on my grammar but for starters I am happy with this.

The Reign of Social Networking...

Little less than a decade ago, in the world of Internet, when bored teenagers surfed websites and entered into chat rooms for kicks, there came in to existence a site which changed everything. Orkut, a social site which allowed teens and people of different ages to create an account and meet strangers as an excuse to kill boredom. From being socially active in the real world, a virtual world took over and people were glued to their laptops/desktops to surf pictures and check on what others were upto.

When the reign of Orkut was on and people were finally reaching saturation, there came Facebook a.k.a FB. Well, this was different compared to Orkut. Facebook only allowed you to add people you knew and had strict privacy policies through which random people were not allowed to see anything on the profile other than just the picture and gender. This social site spread like wild-fire, thanks to its creator Mark Zuckerberg! Well, he even funded a movie on himself which released in the year 2010. Now Facebook has a fan / user base of approximately 750 million users out of which 50% of the users log on almost every day. That's a lot of Social Networking in a day! That's not all. The movie (The Social Network) ended up raking a whooping $50 million within the first 2 weeks. That's just an estimated amount published through the box office. The publishing house expected The Social Network to hit $100 million, which I am sure by now it probably already has.

So this is to show how powerful a social networking site has gotten over the past few years. Currently Facebook stands as the Champion among Social Network Sites. But, there are signs of a competitor and believe me, this is just the beginning of the fun.

Google sat back and watched Facebook soar up the ladder of Social Networking and knew they had to do something about since they are the Internet giants especially with their power search engine and email applications. Finally, 2011 marked a new era and challenge in the Social Networking world. Welcome to Google+ or typed as GooglePlus in search. This is a beta social network version launched by Google to take on Facebook head on! Currently this website is on invites only and yes if you do have a Gmail id, your friend using Google+ can send you an invite. This site has a calm home screen and with a few hours of surfing, let me assure you that it will give you a very nice feeling with no hassles at all. You can share video's, post on the main screen wall just like Facebook and currently Google+ already has reached the 1million user mark even though its on the beta page at the moment. This is a strong growth and could clearly spell trouble for Facebook.

So where is our good ol Twitter page in all this fight? Well, Twitter is enjoying a nice relaxed time watching all these social network sites fight while it has calmly hidden 5,72,000 new accounts which were created March 12, 2011. So we are looking at a huge number of twitter users. Especially 177 million Tweets sent on March 11, 2011 is huge and looks like Twitter will have its own empire. Anyone ready to challenge this little birdie?

Now, my final verdict. I am still a not-so-active user of Facebook and an ametur user of Google+ since I have a lot more to learn from it. My advice, never get addicted to a Social network. Get out of your house and enjoy a good time with your friends over a cup of coffee or just pick up your phone and speak to them to enjoy real friendship rather than a virtual one!

India Wins the Cricket World Cup–02.04.2011

An event that will go down in history. Something that is going to be the talk of generations to come. Has India’s favourite sport hit the top? It’s cricket. Yesterday it was just the pressure of the match, but from today it is going to be the fame, lime light and the crazed cricket mobs that in all probability will start choking the players. I just hope they will be able to handle the media pressure from now.

I enjoyed watching the finals with some close friends but the funny part was, everybody was silent during the whole match! I mean, nobody had anything to say or any views to share regarding anything that was happening in the game being played. Faint clapping and light cheering following the runs or wickets scored by India were the only sounds that were heard. Was it a sign of extreme suspense or, that of a match being too predictable? I am not sure. I always had this feeling that the whole tournament would turn out to be way too predictable once India got through the Quarter-Finals. A few points to be raised:

1. Finals held at Mumbai – Hometown of Sachin Tendulkar. Coincidental? Especially when the whole team was suddenly dedicating the winning to him.

2. Dhoni finishes the match with a massive 6 run shot – After the match was over, Dhoni took the backstage and was not seen much during the march around the ground or the champions picture. Everyone was talking about Sachin. What about Dhoni’s masterpiece Captaincy during the whole tournament? How could one forget about that?

3. Home Ground Win – No team in the history of World Cup Cricket has won the finals on home ground. India did it. Doesn’t that sound too easy?

I am a fan of Cricket and I do cheer for the Indian Team but sometimes things just create so many doubts in one’s mind that you have to share it to know the truth or reality. While I do respect the sport, Hockey is the National Sport of India but Cricket gets all the limelight. This one little fact creates massive doubts in a persons mind to compelling one to hunt for answers.

On that note, Congratulations to the Indian Cricket team and here wishing the best for them in their future cricket events against England and Australia.

Social Networks ...

Sipping on a cup of coffee and surfing around, i suddenly realized i had a blog page of my own! Wow, it's been 6months since my last post and all those comments on my old posts did bring a smile on my face when i was just reading through. Was more like a memory refresh on an early sunday morning. Has anyone ever wondered why we tend to blog less these days? Let me give you a good clue.
Social netoworks. Yes, Social Network sites like Facebook and Twitter have become so popular that people have diverted their attention and thoughts to 'Status Updates' and 'Tweets'. Have a thought and just go on there and post it. Look at your blog page and your blank on what to type since you've already proclaimed your personal thoughts to the whole world and all you do is sit back and wait for 'Likes' 'Pokes' and comments. I really wonder what thrill does it bring to one while you can write your whole thought on a blog and share it with people who actually understand it and agree with you or share their views. I feel social networks damage your personal social life to a great extent. People tend to sit inside the four walls of their home and never bother to walk out, breathe some fresh air and actually socialize with people in real! Trust me, its much better to make and meet friends in real than watching some bunch of fake pictures clicked during their 'good days'. On the other hand you have your weird 'tweets'. I have always wondered, can a person ever guess if a particular tweet is sarcastic or good?

Food for thought. Signing off for now but more to come and will make sure its not a long 6months break. Cheers!

I did find the movie Confessions of a Shopoholic a bit weird and always wondered if a human could ever spend and land up in such huge debt? Always wondered why we never have control over our self when it comes to shopping? I proved myself wrong when i went out to pick my own new Idiot Box. Yes, it took me 15 stores, hunts and begs for offers and sales executive's trying to push for 3D idiot boxes and other high end boxes. After the 14th store, i almost gave but up but found 1 idiot box completely irresistible and in my budget! And there goes my mind, a complete confusion if i should just pick it up or wait for some festival which will give us some nice offers. But, my mind just made me pull out the plastic and swipe it off and there i was, a proud owner of the new LCD Television set with a DTH connection along with it!

Sigh of relief and my bean bag gets the warmth of my butt all day along with my fingers playing with the remotes. Smile of success and happiness for finally owning a Television of our own.

Sip of tea, newspaper and the tv is on with some nice channels playing. The 2nd page of the newspapers suddenly slaps my face with offers and deals on Televisions along with refrigerators. The best way to make one feel sad and guilty of buying without planning.

Sigh, that's my experience as a shop-o-holic.

Blackberry R.I.P

I am out of the Blackberry craze that i have been hooked on to from past 1year now. Picked my first Blackberry phone in May 2009 and just changed my phone back to Nokia yesterday. Just couldn't take it anymore because i was missing the ultimate features of the Nokia phone!

Well its back to Nokia E71 for me and yes i didn't pick the E72 because of some reasons i am going to pen down in my next coming post….

Words from a prominent party leader, ‘If your heart doesn’t beat for an Indian, then your not an Indian’.

Should i be tugging my hair and running around in deep frustration? For love of God! what on earth would that mean? So, now, i wouldn’t need a visa at all! I just need to make sure my heart beats for an American Citizen and Voila! i am an American and if my heart beats for an Australian, i am officially a citizen of Australia!

I was seriously shocked to read this article on today’s morning newspaper. How can someone actually criticize or even think of getting into another humans liking and categorize it or tag it as per their cheap narrow minded mentality? Why do people tend to interfere in someone’s personal life and make it a living hell? I’m very sure, you wouldn't like someone walking in to your front porch and pissing on your rose garden and saying ‘i watered them out for you’. This is why countries fight against each other and there is no peace. Wars have been fought from ages and still its going on. This just wont stop unless people change the way they think and accept the world as one place for humanity to survive in. All we ask for is Peace. Peace to breath, Peace to walk, Peace to Love, Peace to Survive, Peace to Think and Peace to Live our life.

Owl City ...

I always wonder, is there any smooth music that would make me listen to it againa and again and there i stumble upon this song by Owl City called "FIREFLIES". A smooth song which i would rate as something you could just keep playing on and on. You have my assurance, if your a person who likes smooth music, this is the one with simple insturments.

Owl City came into existence in a very funny way. When i googled for Owl City, Wikipedia gave a pretty interesting story about this person. I am talking about Adam Young, the person who leads this project. The project is basically an American SynthPop with some or lets say alot of Synth touch in it.

If i had to summarize the story about Owl City, i would have to start from the basement. Yup, Adam Young brought this music and group into existence in his parents basement while he worked at the Coca-Cola warehouse to earn his living. And this is the funny part, Young got popular or lets say got his attention for his music through MySpace! He uploaded some works of his on MySpace and the hits on his profile shot up roof top! This easily bagged him the contract from Universal Republic. His first album hit the #20 spot on the Billboard charts and gradually climbed up to #16. Pretty decent for a new entrant. This didnt stop the young chap, he went ahead and relased his album 'OCEAN EYES' on 14th July 2009 through iTunes. The song 'FIREFLIES' his the #1 spot on the UK Charts. And believe me, this song deserves its spot!

Owl City's live band consists of: Breanne Duren (background vocals/keyboards), Matthew Decker (drums), Laura Musten (violin), and Hannah Schroeder (cello)

Yes, after Nokia launched its Netbook PC, Apple got geared up to launch its own Hi Tech product. A sleek, touch screen, thin, flat computer. I wouldn't call it the computer but for sure would name it as the next generation in computing. A flat screen tablet pc with no keyboard with complete features to keep you connected to the net and the world with a touch of a flick of a finger. As of now, i can just share a picture of how the iPad would look like. The estimated launch date is April 2010 while the iPad is priced at a very minimum cost.

I am sure the header of this post would make you wonder if i am back home with my family and this is a post on the welcome i got on my return. Nope. This is a welcome to myself for bringing myself back to senses. I was lost, everything was just the way it is in my life. The same old work routine, food, etc but then i realized, i am just missing out on what’s happening on the outside world. My old posts were all about stuff happening outside and news but now i am just confined inside the four walls of my room and straight to work. So, its back to movies! news! and socializing!

I miss those weird looks i used to sport. Now its just formal wear with basic manners and clean shaved! wow so much for freedom! One of the major curses of living in a corporate world..

All you think your doing is living a simple life and you just want to make it as simple as it can get, but do you really think we are doing that? The best food, the best car, air conditioning to beat the heat, expensive phones, the best designer clothes and not to forget, perfumes and deodorant to attract women and not make us feel good. I wonder why do we crave so much for all of this. Ask a few friends around and they bounce back right at you, ‘dude this is all cool man’ is the statement they will slap you back with but have you ever found a person who thinks just like you or would ever find one as such, i really wonder. i know my posts makes no sense at all, but for those who feel what i am thinking will know what exactly i mean. Life is just a blank book, and nothing is written on it. Its we who write on it the way we want with our thoughts and dreams and when we don't get it, we end up upset and destroyed.

Its time we tried to live a simple life and see if we ever survive or die. I’m sure we will survive …… if we don't, see you in the world after life…..

Thanks to my pal Cj, i was able to rescue my old blog posts along with my blog Scoptoma. But, i was shocked to see alot of pictures videos missing which made me realized that the blog was really old and needed to rest. So, i had to put Scoptoma to sleep with a heavy heart but did rescue my posts and upload them to my new blog.
With the lifestyle i live, i am not very sure when i would get the chance to post on my blog but i will for sure try my best to bring back the life through my new blog.
Really wish i could get all my followers back but its always a new path we walk and new people we come across. The old ones always remain forever.......

Sherlock Holmes

Finally! a movie i would actually go WOW for! Who can not remember the great detective from Baker Street 221b, who would leave no table unturned to solve a mystery along with his super side kick or assistant as he calls, good ol Dr. Watson. Yes, i am talking about Sherlock Holmes. A book we all used to keep reading and never stop, thanks to the thriller mystries and adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

And now we have Guy Ritchie who has given us a mind blowing movie on Sherlock Holmes. A perfect casting by Guy Ritchie to give you a good chill down your spine. We have Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey Jr), Dr. Watson (Jude Law), Irene Adler (Rachel McAdams) who is for sure not from the books and the bad guy Lord Blackwood (Mark Strong). This movie gives a superb mix of black magic, skills and action! A pure challenge between the brains and black magic. The movie starts off in a good note but if you find it really difficult to follow british accent then i suggest you pick a place which plays with subtitles. The dialouges are a mix of chemical compounds and logical theories. Action is not all, Robert Downey Jr makes sure he even potrays his skill of comedy along with some serious action.

I would'nt want to be a spoilt sport and write down the whole story out here but let me assure you, there will be a Sherlock Holmes 2 and not to forget Iron Man 2! so we have alot of Robert Downey Jr coming up this year with heavy action and scenes for us to remember.

The Sad Demise of Scoptoma

Unfortunately, Scoptoma was lost last month because of security reasons and it was very diffucult to loose it. Yes, i am talking about my old blog which was more than a year old with some good followers who kept motivating me about my writes.

But that doesn't break me! i am back! back with a new blog to write what my eyes see and write my heart out!

A long forgotten movie! A movie that captured the screen back in 1998 and had the best cast crew we could ever think of. And lets not forget the story line of the movie that clearly showed us how mother nature could be stronger than the whole earth put together and all our new technologies and weapons. A wonderful movie that i can just keep watching on and on but still not get tired of it. The music line is just its best with 'Leaving on a Jet plane' by John Denver just before the launch to outer space and Aerosmith with his cool number in the mid of the movie. The cast, Bruice Wills, Billy Bob Thornton, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, Will Patton, Steve Buscemi, William Fichtner, Owen Wilson, Micheal Clarke Duncan, Peter Stormare (my fav russian accent actor), Ken Hudson Campbell and the list just goes on!

Every scene has a meaning to it and you can just not get bored or want to fast forward any scene off. There is action, romance, fun and thrill!

I am sure everyone has watched this movie once but just to refresh your memories do go watch it again and maybe again just like me!

Wake Up Sid!

Wake up Sid! This was a movie that kept me busy on a nice Saturday evening. A typical teen life with the best luxuries a boy would ever dream off. To name some, fathers unlimited money, the most expensive car, nerdy friends, party life in the best metro city called Mumbai and a loving mother who just takes your crap every time you throw it at her! Now this movie is about Sid Mehra (played by Ranbir Kapoor) who just loves to row the boat of life through the easy rivers and never bother about the life ahead. Parties with friends, fun during exams and fantasy to own the most expensive car (even though he already owns a BMW SUV)! But life takes a turn when he realizes he has not cleared his papers while all his other friends have and instead of accepting his mistake, Sid goes around venting his anger on everyone around him, including his own parents and walks out from his fathers shelter and goes to the only person he could think of, the cute girl whom he had met at a farewell party, Aisha (played by Konkana Sen Sharma). This girl is very new to Mumbai and lives life in the most simple way possible. Her only dream or ambition was to get a job in Mumbai's most popular Magazine called Mumbai Beats and now here she has a weird friend Sid.

The story goes on showing us a picture of two lives where one person has no clue what he wants to do and the other is a very ambitious person. They fall in love and the boy never realizes the fact and the story goes on and on

My review can conclude with a short note, a good film with a different concept and a weird but slow end. No high expectations, no blood, no evil man or woman, no plots, no fight scenes, no kisses, no sex, no extra naughty stuff. A perfect movie for kids and a one time entertainer for adults. Rest, is up to you, so do go and give this movie a shot and i think i will be curious to know your thoughts on it once you do that. My post is completely open for comments and movie review.

PS: i just typed out 50% of the story so you all are going to curse me for this!

Yes, i totally agree its been months since i last posted on my blog so i am sure you will find a few cobwebs and spiders around with dust. Time to clean up and get my blog speed back in action! Its a new city for me now and i am still trying to trek myself around this place and know things about this alien city! People look lost in work life and you could for sure bet on all of us being 'Puppets - of - Corporate Life'! So, you are for sure going to see a lot of my posts pertaining to my experiences around this alien city! I hope i survive.

a long awaited post……GOA!

Finally! I’m back after a long break! I know its kind of weird especially when a blogger has a break of almost 3months from his previous post, but, couldn’t see much happening around me especially with the freaky recession monster luring around everybody’s life, haunting them from living a normal happy life!

So, i finally break free from work and all my worries, pack my bags and head off to Goa on the 20th of February, 2009! The journey from Udupi was very short or maybe i was so excited about the whole Goa trip that i never realized the 4hours train journey! The plan was basically with 2 of my friends from TO (this is how Fahad prefers to call it). So let me go on about the whole trip.

20th February, 2009 – Day 1

The train finally came to a halt around 21:40 at the Madgao Station. This is the main station in Goa where every train does stop. So, if your ever planning a trip to Goa, all you need to do is catch a train and just head off to Madgao station. That's your final stop for Goa! The station has almost 4 platforms and is crowded most of the times. I stepped off the train and gave a call to my friends who were waiting outside to pick me up from the station. Fahad sounded all excited and just screamed, “head straight to the main gate, i am right there!” i knew we all were excited, especially a vacation with friends whom i had not seen for almost 12years! I walked past faces with weird expressions, and there at the main gate i had my friend waiting for me eagerly! As brothers who had met after ages, we exchanged hugs and head straight to where his Uncle and Aunt were waiting for us. I have to mention this, Uncle and Aunt were the perfect example of how loving and special Goan hospitality could ever make you feel! And there i met Eric who had joined Fahad from TO (Toronto). Oh yes, we were for sure missing our good ol pal Daniel! But, he couldn’t make it. So, we head off to North Goa from the station, where Fahad had already arranged a place for us at Baga with his expert Goan Konkani and charm, at a very great price! The trip from the station took us around 1hour but that never crossed our minds as we were busy catching up on old memories, especially, when Uncle heard the word ‘Muscat’ he got all energized and started filling us up with all this old experiences! Which was really fun to listen to as that actually made us realize how Oman had changed drastically in the past few years! Aunty was so sweet, she had made the Goan specialty, ‘Sana’ which is actually made of rice, some sweet and shaped circular, giving you a real sweet taste but tummy filling experience with every bite. I really needed that after that 4 hours of just water journey. We finally reached our guest house called, ‘Larrisa’ which was a real neat place right near the beach! A spacious room with all that a human would need to survive, including a Tv, fridge and cupboards! The balcony had 2 easy chairs facing right out to the beach! WOW! That's all i said! We thanked Uncle and Aunty as it was already 22:00 which was pretty late. We freshened up and started off our vacation with the Goan delicacy, Cashew Fenny! Thanks to my good ol pal, that was my first experience of Fenny as i always thought it was some stinking drink which i would never try but at last i did! Not bad for a start as the drink was really good with some clear fizz mixture! We headed off to the shacks after some drinks to catch up on dinner. Shacks are these huge eat outs situated right at the beach! So your actually savoring on some Goan dishes sitting at the beach! We settled for some normal food and gulped it all down! It was pretty late so most of the places were closed. Took a walk down the road to our ‘home’ and crashed off for the day! We had plans for the next day!

21st February, 2009 – Day 2

Now this is something i really hate, i just cant sleep even if i am on vacation! I woke up like an early bird at 7a.m. and freshened up. Took a nice easy chair in our balcony and sat facing the beach. This is what i call a nice vacation. Gulping down on some ice cold water, trying to flush off my hangover of the good ol fenny! I was wondering, what would life be, living in Goa, doing this every day! but then when you actually think about it, you realize, you might get tired of it! Fahad woke up and took his bottle of water to flush his sleep off while Eric continued to dream of naked women! It was my best friend Leonelle’s birthday, so picked my phone and gave her a call! And she actually did pick up! which she rarely does as a very busy lady! All excited to hear her and she was actually shocked that i was in Goa, which is obvious because i never take a vacation. Sounds sad? but that's me with my hectic work life! She was busy preparing her own birthday cake which i found pretty right especially when you wouldn't want to spend on an expensive cake! After our call, we three sat and planned our day, oops sorry Fahad and me, because Eric was still snoring. We had time to ourselves till noon as after that it was one of the best times of Goa. The Carnival at Panjim! The Carnival is basically a tradition from the time of Portugal rules in Goa. People from different parts of Goa display their talent and culture through floats. This takes place every year in the month of Feb for almost 3-4 days at the most important cities of Goa. Panjim, Madgao and forgot the rest places. I’m really bad with my memory. We were wondering where we could actually grab a quick bite before we head off to Panjim and there it was!!! SUBWAY!! finally! We could see ourselves rushing in and ordering our favorite sandwiches. I settled for a nice Chicken something. We were busy enjoying and sandwiches and watching a couple fight. Gosh, i wanted to so get up and ask them to get a life! But it was Goa and i was not going to spoil my vacation! We gulped our quick good and rushed off to catch a ride to Panjim. We reached Panjim in the very popular ‘Auto-rickshaw’ in time to catch the start of the carnival! The sun was blazing hot but that wouldn't stop us from experiencing the Carnival! My digi cam battery was kind off low but i did manage to capture a few shots. The rest was all bliss and excitement! People displayed different themes, from the culture of Goa to the anti-terrorist slogans especially after the Mumbai 26/11. The carnival went on till 17:00 which was a real long stand. Mirella’s was on the plan too, an old friend of ours from Catechism Days! She did manage to meet up with us and had a few words. We were exhausted completely! We popped up the plan of getting some pizza back to our place to gulp along with our drinks. So we again head off back to Bagga. We got off at Dominoes which was actually right near our place and we never knew about it! Ordered large servings of Pizza for each and we had 15mins to kill! We took off down the street to examine and see what we could do. And wow, there we had tito’s and mambo’s. But when we looked at it, i felt kind off weird because i was not ready to pull on jeans and a t-shirt and look all high class and fun, sit inside there and listen to some music which i could do on my iPod anyway. I wanted to be in my shorts and my t-shirt! not jeans! We picked our pizza’s up and walked back to our place. Along with some delicious we started off relaxing our muscles, which we for sure needed especially after the straight 5hours stand in the sun! After that i don’t remember a thing because i was way beyond than being in my senses!

22nd February, 2009 – Day 3

Another day, and a bad hangover! This time it was really bad but i could sit up and actually drink more water! We thought of taking the day easy and just visiting Fahad’s aunty who was at Calangute. All i could think of was some real nice Goan hospitality! That's the best! Now we had the morning to kill, so we decided to catch up some breakfast and head off to the nearest Net center to check our mails while Eric was still snoring off. We walked off and found a Cafe Coffee Day right near the net center. So that was our plan after we finish checking our mails. A few minutes of emailing, posting and we were sitting at Cafe Coffee Day chilling over some cool coffee while Fahad was enjoying over ‘Devil’s Own’. We were actually waiting for Eric. We suddenly realized the place had WIFI!!! Fahad made a quick call through Fring to Fedora who was on Gtalk. Like always she just enjoyed pulling my leg and went on chatting up with her brother while i was sitting and enjoying the sight of beauty! Eric comes over to Cafe Coffee Day and gets himself a Cold Coffee. We walk off to Calangute and finally found Fahad’s Aunt place. A very homely Goan house with a beautiful Shrine in the compound. We got a warm welcome by all and there we got to dig on some nice Goan food! They had a small farm with some animals which was really nice to see. After a few chats we went off to the nearest church to attend the Sunday Mass service. That was really refreshing and different! The day was just normal and we walked back to our place. Oh yes, we did check out some shops on our way back but actually never bought anything. Reached our place and changed to head off to the shacks and a stroll at the beach. Oh and this is the best part! i beat Fahad over a race at the beach!!!!!! finally my revenge after he really got me back at the steps on his visit to Mangalore! We stopped over at St. Anthony’s Shack where they had a Karaoke session going on. Trust me, i have not seen songs get ripped so bad as i had seen them there! Our last day in Goa………..

23rd February, 2009

The day we left Goa. Packed bags. Had our last breakfast at the shacks. Cleared our stuff and took a cab to the Airport. Fahad and Eric would be in Goa for a few days while i had a flight at 15:45 to Mangalore. We big goodbye and i head off to the Dabolim Airport. Not something i was looking forward to.

‘Respect your woman’, ‘Rape results in life time imprisonment’, ‘Behind every successful man is a woman’. I wonder where have all these quotes disappeared, especially on 24th January 2009 when a pub at Mangalore called Amnesia was catering to a crowd who were busy sipping on their drinks and catching up with friends. Suddenly, the news bark about attacks on the club. Women are dragged out and hit brutally, a girl is slammed on the concrete floor and she bounces back, don’t believe what you read? then do check out the video and you will find a girl in her 20’s running out of fear and a group of guys come from behind and push her down on the concrete floor where she slams hard and bounces off because of the impact. Sounds fun? ya, i am sure it was fun in the name of Moral! The funny part is, every media reporter was present at the pub shooting the whole incident, but not even a single person bothered to call up the Police officials and report on the same. Why? Its simple, they either were poor reporters with no money in their pockets to recharge their cell phones and report such a bizarre incident and put a stop to it or they were just hungry dogs greedy for news to get a good name from their bosses. But they actually fail to realize, a medal from their boss, but a pathetic name in the nation! The whole incident takes place and the at the end after everyone has cleared off, we see our super fast responsible Police officials visit the place and talk over a cell phone. Now i wonder if that guy was actually reporting about the incident or asking his wife what's for lunch or checking with someone else's wife what’s cooking, come on! our Police force cares for everyone's wife!

Who executed this attack?

A special enforcement group who keep barking about moral and ethics. Their motive is to preserve the dam culture by smashing everyone's face and executing bomb threats. My friends, i give you, the so called ‘Sri Ram Sene’ in short they are known as the SRS. This so proclaimed preservers of the Indian moral and ethics attacked this pub because of the following reasons:

1. The pub had no license and was illegal

2. The pub had other disgusting activities going on inside with girls behaving in the most bizarre manner.

3. I quote, "Their method was wrong. I apologise for that. It should not have happened. But it was done to save our daughters and mothers from an alien culture," - Sri Ram Sene founder-president Pramod Muthalik

Wait a minute! Daughters and Mothers? OMG! I never knew we had mothers going to pubs? this is news! Our mothers cant see a sensual scene in a Hollywood movie and this man says the go to pubs? This is seriously interesting, because it makes me wonder whose mother he actually found in the pub he visited! And come on give me a break! if all women are daughters and mother then who on earth do we have a relationship with!!! This is hilarious! I think this man needs to get his facts right for a minute.

So let me get this statement right. This attack was executed to save our so called daughters and mothers from the wrath of alien culture? To save them, you got to smash their faces on the floor and insult them in public? Right, so this is the Indian Culture. I am really curious to know what is Alien Culture, the same kids who attacked the pub wearing a college bag at the back, hardly even a beard or moustache on their face and who i am for sure could be found smoking a cigarette somewhere in a corner are saviors of the Indian culture from the Alien Culture. I would love to actually laugh my guts out on this and i did when this was read out loud on every news channel. The world will move to the new technology and every country will advance to the new generation BUT Indians will still wear leaves and walk around naked like nomads trying to make fire out of dry sticks!

These people proclaim that there were unethical things happening around in the club because of which the attack was executed. So, the club bouncers and managers are dumb to stand and let that happen? If a male tries to act cheeky or funny with a girl in the pub, he is either thrown out or given a warning!!!! so how on earth can these guys say something like that?

I can keep writing something that nobody would understand or people might just look at this as another post on something that every news channel and website is barking about, but i just thought i wanted to write my mind out and i did. The rest, is unpredictable. The fact and question remains, why Amnesia and not other pubs in Mangalore? Was this a personal revenge with the Owners of Amnesia for which others suffered?

Start your engines!!! Ready!!! Set!!! and STOP!!! Yup, you got that right, TRUCK STRIKE!!! what more could you ask for on the start of a new year??? Was it not bad enough that now we have a truck strike. The worst effect from this? Complete stop on economy! a Stand still!!! As per the recent news, fuel is hit real bad, thanks to the strike. On my way back home i could see each and every single petrol bunk filled with vehicles! and i had no clue why there was such a rush. Maybe the fuel prices were going to rise from tomorrow. But once i reached home and check online, DAMN!!! This was worst than prices, NO FUEL!!!

Got an article which i am sure will give a better idea on what exactly or how bad the scene is:

“Petrol, diesel and LPG supplies may run dry in the next two days, as an indefinite nationwide strike by oil PSU officers entered the second day on Thursday even as talks to end the stir failed.
Reports from across the country said petrol pumps are running out of stock, including some in the national capital, while aviation-refueling services were delayed because of the absence of officers.
"We met the Oil Sector Officers Association leadership this morning but progress could not be made as they were harping on the same issues. We said we can do nothing since a high-level ministerial committee is already looking into it. But they didn't budge," IOC Chairman Sarthak Behuria said.
The striking officers are protesting lower-than-expected increase in pay.
"We have been managing the situation till now, but, there are supply constraints," Behuria said, adding that "if the strike continues, we might see dry-outs from tomorrow."
There was a backlog of domestic LPG supplies in many parts particularly in the South as the truckers' stir disrupted supply.
Behuria said the problem was because of inadequate loading at the refineries and petrol pumps keeping low inventories in anticipation of fuel price cuts.
IOC's seven refineries were producing only 40 per cent of their output with production being impacted at its key refineries of Panipat and Mathura.
Its Koyali refinery in Gujarat was producing only 25 per cent of the normal output, while BPCL's Mumbai refinery was operating at 70 per cent of its capacity.
The government admitted there were shortages but said the situation was under control.”

Facing a slow net speed while your router lights are still blinking? Sudden flush of messages on your chat window? Continuous disconnection from the net?

Read on this article from the Arabian Business website:

“Damage to three major undersea cables seriously disrupted more than half of internet and phone services between Europe, the Middle East and Asia on Friday, with India, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates the worst affected, France Telecom said.

The telecom operator said initial estimates show 82 percent of service to India was disrupted, while 73 percent of service to Qatar and 68 percent to the UAE was affected.
Around 50 percent of service to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt was also disrupted, it said.

"The causes of the cut, which is located in the Mediterranean between Sicily and Tunisia, on sections linking Sicily to Egypt, remain unclear," France Telecom said in a statement on its website.
The company said a ship set off in the early hours of Saturday morning to fix the lines, but that it would not arrive until Monday and that it could take until Dec. 31 until normal service was restored.
UAE telecom Etisalat said it had taken "precautionary measures to ensure the flow of internet services", state news agency WAM reported, citing a company statement.
"Etisalat was able to use alternative routes shortly after the disruption of the three international cables, thereby ensuring the continuity and smooth flow of internet services in the UAE," the statement said.
Du, the UAE's second telecom, said it had re-routed data and international voice traffic east through alternative cable systems.
"The top 50 voice destinations are now unaffected and only 15 percent degradation overall remains. Internet capacity is reduced but again additional capacity is being activated to the east which will restore performance to more normal levels," the company said in a statement.
Qatari telecom Qtel said loss of capacity in Qatar was being kept below 47 percent and the country "is only experiencing limited effects".
"Qtel’s network of alternative transmission routes and back-up cables has ensured that Qatar has remained connected," the company said in a statement.
However, it did warn users might experience some slowdown in internet speed and access problems until the cables were repaired.
Kuwait's Ministry of Communications said the damage had affected internet service and some international communications in the Gulf state, state news agency KUNA reported.
The ministry said it had "contacted local, regional and international parties to secure communications' alternatives to provide the service".
France Telecom spokesman Louis-Michel Aymard was quoted by newswire AFP as saying the cuts were unlikely to be an attack. He said the cables could have got caught up in trawlers' nets or there could have been an underwater landslide.
Aymard said one of the cables seems to have been severed, while the other two seem to have been only partially cut.
The cables are jointly owned by several dozen different countries. One of the cables is 40,000 km long and links 33 different countries while a second is 20,000 km long and serves 14 states.
In January, five cables in the Middle East and Europe were cut, causing severe internet disruption across the Middle East and Asia.”

Yup, you read that right. If you have a Nokia S60 (Symbian phone), all you need to do is download the Internet Radio application on to your phone and add Myopusradio.com streaming URL manually. Not able to do it? Let me take you through this step by step:

1. Make sure your phone is on the Symbian Platform. For eg: my phone is the Nokia E71 which is just awesome!

2. Go to Downloads! on your phone and under Applications choose Internet Radio. Download this onto your phone.

3. Its best to run this application on Wi-Fi so make sure your phone is Wi-Fi enabled.

4. Try to search for Myopusradio.com but i am sure you wont find it in the list so you will have to manually install it.

5. Press 'Options' and choose 'Add Station Manually'.

6. Once you do this, you will find an option to enter the streaming URL of the radio you want. So just type in: http://67.192.185.210.8000/myopusradio and then give the name as Myopusradio.com.

7. Save this and select this radio. It will start buffering and BOOM!!! you have Myopusradio running right on your phone!!!

My Nokia E71 Review... a Short Personal One

Right, i know you all are shocked to see me blogging about a phone but i just couldn't resist not blogging about this awesome phone nokia had launched. This is not going to be a detailed post but just a personal feel about the phone. If you really want some nice juice on this phone then i would suggest you to check out the exclusive post 'Unboxing the E71' by Cj.

For me, this baby is just the best smart phone ever launched by Nokia. You can practically just do anything on this phone. From downloading your email, to tracking on nokia maps and running several applications at once (thanks to its ARM 11 369 MHz Processor). The QWERTY keyboard just gives you the smooth ease to text with no trouble at all and the shortcut keys to your Calender, Phone book and Messaging is just the best. A few points where the E71 really gives a smooth time at work and stuff i have loaded onto my phone

1. This phone can practically run at a high speed on GPRS so check my mails through this phone is just awesome. The service i use provides EDGE so using the web is must faster than the normal GPRS. Helps me update my emails on the move.

2. The battery is something that really impressed me and trust me you would say the same. For my job, i need to be on call and conference calls almost for hours. With texts flying around the phone is just used to its more top performace and not forget the GPRS and messengers running on the background. Oh did i forget to mention that i run Nokia Vine too on the move. So with all these applications and usage i would say this phone really serves my purpose. A smooth battery backup of more than 12hrs. Let me back this statment of mine. My phone is on use from the moment i wake up, which is at 05:30 a.m. and i end my day at 01:00 a.m. so you can easily take a wild guess on what i mean.

3. Just install Fring and this phone keeps you connected practically to every messenger you own and your friends are connected to you 24/7. Don't forget about the Wi-Fi feature in this phone which really backs you up when you in a 'Wi-Fi' zone.

4. The memory. OMG...this phone is just always free with a lot of memory left to offer you space for your data and applications. The phone memory boasts an easy 110MB which the phone is a mean machine up to 8GB of SD chip. So we are talking about heavy memory. But personally i am just happy with my 2Gb chip. People have said they faced problems with 8Gb but i would know that once i try it out. Maybe....

5. The QWERTY keyboard is just awesome. Let it be SMS or typing down an Email, this keyboard is just great with all the keys right at your finger tips. I assure you, typing speed is much faster on this than on any other normal keys of Nokia or other phone. So i would for sure give a 9/10 for this.

6. The camera is something not so great if your a blogger and completely depend on taking pictures. So if your thinking of having an E71 but still want to take pictures then a digital cam is suggested. The flash is just not great especially for a person who has used the N82. The 3.2mp is ok but not as good as a real 3.2 should actually be. So if its picture shots or video i wouldn't suggest the E71.

Well, these are just my personal thoughts on the E71. As a person who is completely depended on an organizer and email would for sure stick to the E71. But if your a person who is more into Pictures, Videos then i would suggest the N82 as it really gives you the backup with a 5mp and Xenon Flash.

Conclusion: I am happy with my E71 as the picture and video part is backed by my Sony Digi Cam and music by my Apple Ipod!!!

Slumdog Millionaire......

At first i totally ignored the movie when i was told about it by Rhea. But when i actually watched the Trailer, it was mind blowing!!! A movie filled with Bollywood artists but actually shot by a British Director Danny Boyle and Co-Director Loveleen Tandan. I just cant wait for this movie to be played in India or atleast on screens out here!!! For the moment i could just offer you the trailer......

The soundtracks are worth a download but thats if you can manage music which is completely on a different level. You do have some songs from other movies but wouldnt want to break the suspense so why dont you just hunt around for the soundtracks or just wait for the Movie!!!

Mumbai 26/11…..

Interested to dig in on some interesting posts about what's happening around us and about all those dreadful terror attacks? Want to know what my pals think about Terrorism? Your right, I have not blogged a single post from past few weeks and my blog is completely silent about the terror attacks that took place in Mumbai – 26/11. What do I say? We been just posting and asking questions when will all this end but looks like it just wont end ever. Are we Indians blind? Because with all these happenings i feel we are totally blind. Cant we see terrorists actually living amongst us, planning, watching and memorizing every move of ours and we just never notice them. Once an event takes place and they either show or disclose a location of where the terrorists were using as shelter, we suddenly jump up shamelessly and state, ‘OMG, these guys had taken up a place right beside my house and i had a doubt something was wrong’. Even though we sensed something was wrong, we still kept our mouth shut and never uttered a word to the Security or Cops. Why? Because we have a dirty ego which tells us, ‘why fall into all this? someone else will notice and inform. Why do we have to simply spoil our sleep’. And when these terrorists come out of their shell and attack, that's when we have sleepless nights or we are the victims for their actions. Thousands of lives, millions of worth infrastructure, insecurity to the kids walking in a group or all alone to their schools just to fulfill the dreams of their parents who actually sat at home and didn't bother about the ‘unknown’ neighbors.
I think its time we all kept our eyes open and watched out. This is our country and our world. We just cant let some bunch of jobless, shameless, uncultured, blind, brain washed maniacs to come and destroy parts of our country. Wake up and watch. Protect your country and the future for the kids walking and living around us……

A Taste of Wordpress…

I always wanted to know what exactly is it to blog on Wordpress, so as I was totally jobless from morning I thought of giving it a try. I log on to their website and register myself. Now this is the tough part because once you register yourself, you don't get to know what's the URL to your blog. So i go around hunting and hushing while cursing my stars for being so dumb because I cannot find a simple URL. And after alot of hunt I finally crash upon my URL which turns to be another pain because I didn't find the manage account option as easy as Blogspot. But let me tell you something that really caught hold of my attention, the themes!!! OMG, the themes are just fabulous. Five pages of themes and all official themes of Wordpress. How awesome could it get until I found out you cannot add on widgets like how we can on Blogspot, so that gave me another reason not to like Wordpress. If your a Windows Live Writer user, like i am then its going to be easy blogging on Wordpress, otherwise you are going to waste your day just by searching the POST tab!!! If your comfortable with Blogspot I would never suggest Wordpress but if you have all the time in this world to sit all day online and edit and paste then i am sure you could manage Wordpress. Oh and the other thing that really fascinated me was the IMPORT option, where you can actually import all your post (as it is posted) and comments from Blogspot straight on to Wordpress without any change in the posts!!!

Over all I would still stick on to Blogspot if that means I need to have more than 1 blog…. Keep Blogging!!!

Quantum of Solace….

Alright, so here we are with another sequel. Casino Royale was warmly accepted by all and people do talk about those ultimate stunts performed by our new Bond (Daniel Craig). Jumps from one roof to another, flipping of that awesome Aston and other damaging stuff but jaw dropping stunts. Well, he is back in a sequel called Quantum of Solace. Now, if I was to give this movie a name as a theme I wouldn't be sure to think or see it from the point of action or point of revenge. Carried away by revenge over the loss of his Love in Casino Royale, Bond is out on a quest. To carry out his duty and find out about his lost love. Bond is turned into a killing machine, who doesn’t even spare the people who help him out (Mathias). So what’s this movie got? Lets just say our Bond is emotionally hurt but has it all curbed within him and what would be the best way to stay calm but kill all suspects. Bond was known for all those juicy women he would feast upon and leave the spectators drooling over fantasy but this might disappoint the viewers as here he doesn't even get a bit close to it, other than a semi nude agent who was supposed to arrest him (spoiler!!!). But, for all those action dominated fans, don't be upset!!! The movie kick starts with an ultimate car chase scene which again leaves the awesome Aston damaged (Looks like our new Bond makes very less use of the Aston), then you got the roof jump man to man chase, the boat chase with some jaw dropping stunts and many more!!! Trust me, this movie is a complete package of emotions and actions without passion. Sounds weird for a Bond movie? but that's what it is.

Well, I have kept the details crisp because I really don't want this post to be a complete spoiler so would suggest you all to move and watch this movie on the Big Screen. Its worth the cost. And do remember to get yourself some popcorn and fizz with a lot of friends because there is a lot of hooting and screaming to do on the action!!!

“London: James Bond star Daniel Craig has said it is time for a black 007 now that the US has elected its first African American president.

"After Barack Obama's victory I think we might have reached the moment for a colored 007," he is quoted in The Telegraph as telling an Italian news agency.

"I think the role could easily be played by a black actor because the character created by Ian Fleming in the Fifties has undergone a great deal of evolution and continues to be updated."

Craig took a sideways dig at Bond creator author Ian Fleming, who is said to have been conservative in view, with his books reflecting the race prejudices of his times. "I think he'd probably turn in his grave" at the thought of a black Bond, he said.

The newspaper says this is not the first time the idea was mooted. Black British actor Colin Salmon, who played M's smooth chief of staff in the three Pierce Brosnan Bond films, was tipped to take over the role before it went to Craig.”

Make it Happen… (Movie Review)

If your a total dance freak and have the moves then this is a movie you can for sure not miss out. The trailer was enough to build the curiosity in me to download this movie and watch it without a miss. The story by director Darren Grant is about a simple girl Lauyrn (Mary Elizabeth Winsted) who is working in a garage along with her brother. But that's not what she wants. She has a dream and practices real hard to achieve that dream. Dancing. She has always dreamt to get enrolled into Chicago’s School of Music and Dance academy. She travels all the way to Chicago to audition but is rejected and left out with a broken dream. Sad and depressed Lauyrn bumps into Dana (Tessa Thompson) who is working as a waitress in a nearby coffee shop. Both of them exchange a short conversation and Dana offers a roof for Lauyrn. Dana learns about Lauyrn passion towards dance and tries to get her a job at ‘Ruby's’, a night club run by Brenda (Karen LeBlanc). Not convinced with Dana, Brenda rejects Lauyrn with an excuse that she has no job for her. But with some convincing Lauyrn gets herself in as a book keeper. That's where she gets a break and takes on stage astonishing every single person out there with her mind blowing moves. Including the music director of the club, Russ (Riley Smith). Attracted by Lauyrn’s moves and beauty, Russ tries to help her realize her true dream and pushes her to give another try at the academy. All this while, Lauyrn's brother was under the impression that his sister was busy at school but was shocked to find his sister on stage at a club when he was in Chicago. Shattered and upset, Lauyrn's brother walks out and so does Lauyrn who doesn't want to upset her brother goes back the the old garage life. Later one day when her brother saw her moves when she was dancing to a music in the garage after work he decides to support his sister and push her to the academy and that's what he did. Lauyrn gives another shot at the academy and ……… the story continues.

Time for you to watch it !!! I know this post is a total spoiler but I couldn't help it. Trust me the movie is worth a watch with all those moves and dance.

Opus Radio – India’s first Internet Radio….

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, India;s first Internet Radio – OPUS RADIO!!! and trust me its really cool. These guys are based in Bangalore and a part of Trump It Entertainment & Creative Services Pvt Limited. They have a very popular restaurant chain in Bangalore called the Opus. The Opus hospitality is a successful mixture of some real nice Pub, Cafe, Restaurant and an Amphitheatre!!! Honestly I was not even aware of such an awesome place in Bangalore. Now I know. So now these guys launched themselves on the net with this real awesome Internet Radio site called Myopusradio.com. This is a total flash player filled site with an interactive radio which lets you listen to the radio right on their website or for the media freaks you can download yourself the link to the radio which can be played on Winamp, Media Player or iTunes!!! so now everyone’s got a smile of relief on their face. This is the first Indian Internet Radio site which plays some real awesome International Tracks.

The anchors are totally filled up and geared up with alot of energy so trust me every second is a pleasure to your ears. To name them I would start off with ‘Carlton (Extra) Braganza’, this guy is totally fun with a piercing laughter that could wake up the dead!!! The site clearly states,

“Carlton is the founder and the soul of Opus! That should say it all!
His two shows will be a musical treat. Signed, Sealed and Delivered.”

Alright next on the menu we got the delicious and yummy Kashvi Lakshman or known as “Kashvi (Darling) Lakshman”. So what do I know about this bubbly anchor? The morning on this Radio is started off with Kashvi and some nice cool songs as chilled as she is. Beat this, She is also the station head of Opus Radio so she has got a lot up her sleeves but totally covered up with a sweet voice and some calm music and really gives you the energy to push forth with your daily morning chores!!! A perfect ‘breakfast’ along with your morning cup of coffee. Highly recommended!!!

Alright next would be Otis D’souza or known as “Otis (over the top) D’souza”. A guy with alot of talent and experience added to his life, this cool dude has an accent that has still got everyone wondering where on earth did that come from. 25years of his life have passed by building Helicopters at Canada, Egypt, and Timbuctoo (alright this is totally stated on the website and not me!!!) Trust me I am still laughing my ass off on Timbuctoo. I think the website has got a perfect description on him which states,

“To hear him talking about hillbillies and Stetsons and spurs, you’d think he’d been born a cowboy. He’s got the build (gym 6 days a week buddy!), the hawk nosed rugged Marlboro Man kind of thing and a collection of boots from the world over! A natural host for Cross Country. It doesn’t hurt that he grew up (Ummm. Debatable…) with these songs – wooing, flirting and crying!”

Last but not the complete last we got Vivek!!! Yup, the anchor for ‘Vivek vs Vivek ’also known as “Vivek (MPD) Madan” . This show is all and full of Vivek, Vivek and himself again fighting it out with himself and does keep you on the happy side with some real interesting crack up jokes. The songs played are really awesome and worth an ear. This guy is on during the noon, a perfect time after a heavy lunch so I guarantee you that this guy will keep you up even if your sleeping off at your desk at work!!! What the web has to say on his?

“He has an opinion on everything… sometimes multiple… and promptly forgets which is his own!!! He can move from being a suave British agent to Circle Inspector Vaasudev! From a gay Parisian lover to a homophobic MCP… from a hot sexy starlet to a grumpy ole director! All you have to do is push the right buttons… And then run for cover!!!!”

Alright now after all these info I think its time you guys actually moved off and checked it out and trust me you are for sure going to be totally addicted to this Radio!!! I am so how about you now?

(P.S.: I didn't mention much about the Hospitality chain of Opus because I have not yet experienced it but according to people this Goan based chain is really awesome with come delicious surprises)

Spywares and Viruses??? – My Disaster Weekend…

Alright so here I am chilling in my room being all nice and cozy surfing the net with my anti virus updated till date. I hit across a new software called Team Viewer and for sure with my kind of curiosity i downloaded the thing and tried it to connect to my girl’s laptop who is using a Mac. Dam!!! within seconds my pc is hit by 2 stupid wandering Trojans and some stupid spyware or malware or whatever the dam thing is called (sorry for all the swears). Totally stunned and speechless because i had no clue what went wrong with the best anti virus (actually 2nd best anti virus application) ?? How on earth did it miss such a virus? My whole comp goes Coo Coo and my windows applications vanish completely. Sigh..all those hard work settings and bookmarks blown off in seconds….My weekend was a total mess!!! Sat up all night trying to fix up my comp but to my bad luck none of the anti virus were able to detect the Trojans or they would detect it but not kill the dam thing!!!

Cj (don't forget to click on his name and check out his new dang sexy blog skin!!!) and my sweet girl shot their advices and help (so sweet!!!) and it did help. Called up the comp guy and made him reinstall my OS and there i was all happy and stuff … WAIT A MIN!!! that fool installed Service Pack 2 instead of 3!!! I was on a 3 and not 2 before the dam virus attack. There goes my Sunday too. Monday morning was a total rush and run to my friends comp shop. Got myself a Windows Xp with Service Pack 3 and Office Enterprise 2007!!! Yay!!! Got home and reinstalled the whole thing and here I am back to where i left!!! But, still got to figure out what do I blog about :)

Alright now if i had to say something about the book i am reading, 'The Runaway Jury' is a nice story about how Jurors are selected through rigorous spying and analysis.

Heroes Season 3 - Villains!!!

Finally its here!!! Heroes Season 3 is here and for those who have totally missed out on the 1st two season don't panic because season 3 is a complete 'fresh beginning'!!! Yes Yes I know I sound totally hyped about the new season and who wouldn't be? Trust me the minute you start off with the episodes (only 1 and 2 are out) you would beg for more!!! so be careful as this is really very contagious

Alright, now for all those who are planning to start off Heroes from season 3, let me help you out with the cast:

Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka): Hiro is a programmer from Osaka with the ability to manipulate the space-time continuum, and thus seemingly stop, slow, or accelerate time, as well as travel to anywhere in the world be it past, present or future. He is convinced that he is a hero who can use his gift to help those in need around the world.

Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere): A high school cheerleader who has a regenerative ability. She is Noah Bennet's adopted daughter, as well as Nathan Petrelli's biological daughter. Like Adam Monroe, she is unable to die.

Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose): Angela, who has the ability of precognitive dreams, is a founder of The Company and mother of Peter and Nathan Petrelli, and claims to be the mother of Sylar.

Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar): Nathan, who is able to fly, was given the job of junior Senator from New York by the governor after he turned down his successful election as Congressman of New York. He is the biological father of Claire Bennett.

Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg): Parkman possesses the ability to hear other people's thoughts and manipulate their minds. Originally a married LAPD Police Officer, he is now divorced and working as an NYPD detective, and has assumed the shared responsibility of guarding Molly Walker alongside Mohinder Suresh.

Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy): Suresh is a professor of genetics from Chennai, India who travels to New York to investigate the death of his father, Chandra. Upon discovering a way to give anyone abilities, Mohinder unpredictably gives himself the ability of heightened senses.

Niki Sanders (Ali Larter): As Niki Sanders: An internet stripper from Las Vegas who has no powers herself, but whose other personalities display powers, one of which she later gains. Niki is D.L.'s wife and Micah's mother. As Jessica Sanders: A heartless assassin with pinpoint sharpshooting accuracy and powers of superhuman strength, which later on transfers to Niki. As Tracy Strauss: A lascivious assistant to the governor of New York. Tracy possesses the ability of cryokinesis. Gina: Has no known powers. The connection, if any between all four of Larter's characters has not been made clear.

Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia): A hospice nurse for Simone Deveaux's father at the beginning of the series, Peter is what is described as an Empath and the most powerful of all those with abilities. His ability allows him to mimic the powers of others he has been near without having to touch them, and replicate any and all of these powers at will any time after he has been exposed to them.

Ando Masahashi (James Kyson Lee): Ando is Hiro's friend, co-worker, and traveling companion. He has no known superpower.

Maya Herrera (Dania Ramirez): When stressed, Maya can create a deadly illness which is fatal to those around her. Her twin brother Alejandro is not only immune to Maya's power, but can also reverse the effect. Wanted for murder in Central America, she is on the run in the United States.

Sylar (Zachary Quinto): Sylar's initial power is intuitive aptitude; he can see how everything works and can repair or build anything. He seeks out other individuals with abilities, and studies their brain to find the location of their power. In doing so he acquires that individuals power. He has multiple acquired abilities.

HRG a.k.a Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman): Bennet works with and then against the Primatech Paper Company, a cover operation for an organization that investigates people with superhuman abilities. He is Claire's adoptive father and has no known superpowers.

The Indian Folk Artist - Raghu Dixit

Alright, so we always talk about International Artists and group. How about i pick an Indian Artist who we can speak about. Raghu Dixit or whose name is Ragupathy Dixit, the typical Indian warm name that we can think of. Raghu is the founder of the Raghu Dixit project which is an open opportunity for all musicians and artists from different genre to blend and create dynamic music along with their sounds. Raghu is basically from our good ol Bangalore or now known as Benguluru. The shocking part of Raghu's life or if i have to rephrase that it would be his extreme talent in classical dancing, a gold medalist in Masters in Microbiology and a professional classical dancer who has bagged the Vidwat in Bharathnatyam. But that's not all, this extreme talented and self taught guitarist-singer-composer-song writer-musician is based in Bangalore. His band Antaragani is now almost 8yrs old and still going on. This band has a story of its own. Raghu is basically a creator of Folk and Fusion kind of music. 250 concerts across the world is the feather that he carries on his cap of 'The Raghu Dixit Project'.

Raghu's music is a seamless amalgamation of Indian ethnic music and styles from different parts of the world. His lyrics though intense, are simple and speak about every common man's emotions and experiences, therefore, making his songs extremely popular among his fans. Inserting Indian ethnic folk, Sufi and classical phrases cleverly into his songs, Raghu’s singing style can be described as unique at best. His vocal range and versatility has often been appreciated with awe. His songs Mysore se aayi, Mumbai, Antaragni, Hey Bhagwan, Har Saans Mein, Gudugudiya and many more are very popular among his fans.

Raghu's self titled debut album was launched by the popular music director duo Vishal-Shekhar on their new independent record label 'Vishal & Shekhar Music' which collaborated with Counter Culture Records for this release. Raghu Dixit was the first artist to be launched on this new label.

Well i did listen to the songs and kind of like the different feel and sound with a nice touch of different sounds. If your a music fan and can handle a different language and alot of Folk then i would surely suggest this artist music.

The New Facebook - DISASTER

Disaster!!! Well that's what i think the new facebook is. I agree every community page wants to move ahead and get into the beta stuff and blah blah blah but that doesn't mean you totally screw up what was good? I think the old facebook was very friendly and you could easily access applications and the best part, you could always see if any one has super poked you right on your main page feeds while in the new facebook you got to go straight to the application and check your action feeds to check if anyone has super poked you. I have not found a single person actually appreciating the new facebook.

The tabs limit your access and you have to take the real long cuts to check on whats happening around. The speed is really slow, by speed i mean the page loading time really takes alot of time. Almost all have a bad review about the new facebook and i feel its a wrong move by facebook. They should stick on to the old platform and gain more members than making life miserable.

So I am just chilling at my desk, thinking how many days are left in this month and suddenly I realize how many months are left for 2009??? I mean I still remember the 1st of Jan, 2008 when I woke up with a fresh new year in my mind and here i am not preparing myself for another year. Feels like this was the shortest year ever!!! Life seems to be turning out to be something very weird. If i sit back and try to recollect all that happened in the year 2008, its all just fresh in my mind that i could just write them all down without even a single thought. Those awesome times with my friends, hiccups at work, excitements and sadness. There is so much to just talk about but the question is, are we prepared with life and what's in store for us in future? What are we planning to do with 2009? just let it move off like 2008? Think about it....

I'm sure all of us remember those old school days where everyone used to wonder how did this whole solar system and everything come into existence? Right, even i used to wonder the same thing. Religions tried to put forward their own theories, while scientist on the other hand came up with something called 'The Big Bang Theory'. Yes, i am sure your now having weird thoughts if you have never heard about the Big Bang Theory.

Alright so let me put it in simple words. According to Scientists, the Sun came into existence when 2 particles collided with each other at tremendous speed and pressure which in turn created a reaction between the particles and a 'mass' was formed. Well, i'm not sure till what extent what i said is right.

Bangalore which is now known as 'bengaluru' has been facing weird changes due to political powers and stupid laws being enforced. People work their ass off during the day and always tried to find leisure time during the evening after work. Hang out with friends, shopping with family or a nice dinner at a good restaurant. Now that's all a dream. With cops acting weird and trying to control the normal crowd, the culprits roam the streets with pleasure. Ask the law why these funny rules and they say if we control the people and stop late night life then everything will be set right. Weird that they never knew theft, rapes, kidnapping and other major stuff also take place during the day. So now they are going to even stop morning life? As i wait for my morning bus to work, i wonder how my day is going to be, have i had a good breakfast to survive whats in store now once i climb into the bus? These questions keep moving around my mind while i see my ride to work at a far distant. The distance is few meters but the bus takes almost 10mins to reach here. All i can see is a dancing bus moving left and right, wonder why? thanks to the pot holes on the tar road after the heavy showers. So i climb into the bus and take a nice seat to make myself comfortable for the 2hrs journey, oh wait, at the sight of the roads let me make it 'unsure journey'. And the bus starts to move and now i'm a part of the dance troop. People who never new to salsa or cha cha cha can now learn it for free on these roads. All you need is a vehicle with real strong wheels and a strong control over your ride and your ready. The roads make you dance to its tune all the way to your destiny. Had a heavy breakfast and its all in your tummy? dont forget to take the window seat because the roads are going to make flush it all out, trust me on this. When the dance begins i always wonder if i'm ever going to reach work or i would be found in the middle of the road trying to get a ride to work because the bus just lost one of its tyres. It does sound funny but the sight is just not acceptable. The roads are so good that once you reach work or home the first thing you would want to find is the wash room, not to relieve yourself but to actually scrape the thick layers of mud packs on your face. Never forget to carry a soap with you, and in few months you might to even find the shower.

The governement is just sitting quitely warming up its nice chairs till somebody comes along and offers some nice green notes under the table and takes a project filled with low cost materials to fix the roads. Organizations and Communities carry out protests and scream their guts out to fix these roads up, they even close down the NH 17 Highway but for what joy? the people who suffer are we. Loss of pay for 1 day, loss to business men, no transport etc but what does this all have to do with the central government body? NOTHING. So why make noise when there is nobody to listen to you at all? Think about it..... well i'm getting ready for my dance classes now, care to join? all you need to do is sit beside me and enjoy the dance for 2hrs.

So ever wondered what is the most essential thing i need once i wake up? Yup, my cup of hot tea and the newspaper. I know the net is more updated but hey! who wouldn't want to be lazy on a bean bag with a nice cup of tea and a newpaper which is just going to shock you with the new fresh sizzling news? Alright so i pick the paper and wow there we have Mr. Paki President on the front page? So what has he done now? Nothing much, but just a simple recap of Hitlers life if you never realized. I mean look at it, A general takes over the countries army, has a total control over them and wants more!! So he goes ahead and declares himself as the President of the Country!!! How cool can that be!! just proclaiming yourself as the president!!! Alright lets move on now, so this cool guy rules the country with the iron fist as a General of the Army and the President, declares wars on neighbouring country and blah blah blah. Then due to revolts and stuff he steps down as the general of the army and turns himself into a normal civilian president. Now thats all the opposite political party needed...They rush off and declare parlimentary elections and boom Mr. Army general and president loses the elections and has to step down. And now the smarty pants are behind him to throw him off the country. I dont get this people, do they like to torture till the person gets frustrated and kills himself?

Alright so it was just another day filled with rain and rain. Sigh, its so frustrating when you cant go out and do anything. So i get frustrated and head off in search of something exciting and WOW i find myself an alien!!! trust me it was really exciting to find someone from another planet especially on such a day. I casually asked him what he was doing out here and the poor chap says, "We no have water, we frustrated, we need water, our planet die" I was filled with pity for this poor guy and thought why not take him somewhere around and show him our planet so we head off to Cafe Coffee Day on his Spaceship and reach this coffee place. He was all excited when he finally got his Cappuccino. He goes "i am happy and gay, i am happy and gay" ahem i think he meant he is happy. So he sips off his coffee and we have a chat on all the aliens we have ever come across and how they act or behave and gosh we found so many similarities between animals. We finish our coffee at that place and decide to head back to our respective planets. He wishes me luck and bless me with new stuff for my Nokia N82. I am filled with happiness and head back home with a smile. Thank you......

Meehal and Ernest have been this kind of friends and never gave me a feeling that i was out of place. I know these guys from years and its surely not going to be pleasant without their presence around.

A Real Bad Day ...

Alright, my pal Saqib was forcing me to write a blog on how shit life is and trust me what happened to me today has forced me to write this blog. I start my day off the same ol normal way, wake up, brush my teeth and rush to the kitchen to catch up with mom for a nice hot cup of tea. Then come over to my room and my music is on full blast. Get ready and catch the bus to mangalore. The worst thing that happens, i board the local bus in mangalore to go to my office and just before i could get off the bus, MY PHONE IS GONE!!! It was right there in my pocket, i could feel someone calling me up, the vibration mode. I can still feel it and i am at the exit of the bus ready to get off. I get off and walk 1 step, while doing so my hand moves to my pocket and there my phone is gone!!! I panic and my mind goes blank. I run behind the bus and jump back in freakin out and checking everywhere. People start looking at me with a weird stare and i start asking around if anyone saw a phone. Well that was dumb of me to ask because even if they did, they would keep their mouth shut. Sigh typical. I start giving a buzz to my number through another person phone and there its ringing!!! but the person keeps cutting off my call which assured me "my phone has been officially stolen". Depressed, smashed, blank etc thats how i felt. I lost my favourite phone. I had all my contacts, bank details and notes in it and its gone. Sigh. I walk back to my office and just pull out a duplicate sim for my number. Thanks to my vendor Roshan who helps me to get a complaint registered on loss of my phone at the nearest Police Office.

Well just a depressing day and a phase i would want to never remember......

A Day out at Cafe Coffee Day - Manipal

Boring day. Nothing much to blog about and phase of frustration. People talking about the most exciting thing ever *yawn*, the solar eclipse. I dont understand the fact as to what is so exciting about this so called eclipse? Just a phase which i feel has taken place alot of times. Alright, so Cj and me plan to catch up and we decided to hit manipal for a cup of coffee. The same ol Manipal Cafe Coffee Day. We pick this corner seat and just relax talking about the 'eclipse'. And there comes Sonali!!! Awesome girl but straight to the point, she kind off leaves us wondering what was she so busy doing at 'U-LIKE'??? Questions were shot if it was haircut, manicure, pedicure, massage or waxing but we only got a 'NO' as an answer so we give up and leave it as a mystery. Then my pal Cj starts off to claim his role as 'Ross' in the fictitious 'Friends' series created by Sonali, alright i am myself not sure what it is so you will have to read about it. Meehal joins in and to our surpise buddy is everywhere we go, must be the friendly bond we all share :) We come across our other pals like Usha and Gargi. But thats all normal when your in a small place like Manipal. You tend to come across people you want to see and you dont want to. But thats how it goes. Ernest joins in later on to challenge us for a round of pool. Well by then i have Cj already sweating because he was the victim to my super dynamic pots and shots on the pool table, ya i am the pro! *sigh* alright i got to admit he is good and he screwed me real smooth on all games!!! i mean how on earth did he master the pool table? He was best with his shots and no false moves. I stood no chance to beat him!!! Ernest joins in and the table is on fire but after two games we kind of get bored off it and leave the table. A round of chat with my pals and i'm off heading back home to take refuge in my humble shelter. The day was good and never planned or even dreamed of meeting my friends. But its all awesome

Religion, a creator of Terrorism?

Yes you read it right and i know i am touching out on a topic which is very sensitive. I cant help not bringing this up, thanks to all the blasts and weird things that are rising up acorss the country. What is with people? Why do you want to terrorise innocent people when your motive is something else? Terrorisim is a term which is kind of confusing. What is Terrorisim? Accoriding to Wikipedia:
"Terrorism is "the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion."^[2] There is no internationally agreed definition of terrorism.^[3]^[4] Most common definitions of terrorism include only those acts which are intended to create fear (terror), are perpetrated for an ideological goal (as opposed to a lone attack), and deliberately target or disregard the safety of non-combatants. Some definitions also include acts of unlawful violence and war.
Terrorism is also a form of unconventional warfare and psychological warfare. The word is politically and emotionally charged,^[5] and this greatly compounds the difficulty of providing a precise definition. One 1988 US Army found that over 100 definitions of the word "terrorism" have been used.^[6]. A person who practices terrorism is a terrorist. study by the
Terrorism has been used by a broad array of political organizations in furthering their objectives; both right-wing and left-wing political parties, nationalistic, and religious groups, revolutionaries and ruling governments.^[7] The presence of non-state actors in widespread armed conflict has created controversy regarding the application of the laws of war.

I feel this article says or gives a lot of info on what this term means but why are people using religion as a cover up for terrorism? I don't feel terrorism is the only solution to protect your religion. The World accepts every religion with arms wide open then why on earth do people use man made instruments of destruction to terrorize innocent people around? I don't think religion funds for all those expensive artillery and weapons of mass destruction. If not religion then who does? where do they all get funds from? We blame countries and states for funding them, but are the countries really funding them or is our own money being used somewhere around there?

I am confused ........ blogger Nafisa ,Ernest and Nischal too have something to say on this and they too need answers. Actually we all demand an answer. Will our questions ever be answered before all are victims of these religious battles?

The crude bombs, concealed near refugee camps and roadside stuffed with nuts and bolts, exploded between 1.30 pm and 1.45 pm at Adugodi, Madivala, Nayandahalli, Mysore Road, Richmond Circle, Pantharapalya and Vittal Mallya Road.

Two persons were killed and 12 injured in the blasts

A woman waiting at a bus stop in Madivala on the Bangalore-Hosur Road was killed in the blast, while her husband and another person were seriously injured.

Four of the blasts were between Hosur Road and Madiwala; the other three at Nayandahalli, Vittal Mallya Road and Richmond Circle, City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari said.

Except in two places, low intensity explosives were used for the blasts, which occurred within a few minutes of each other, he said.

Police have recovered gelatin sticks, mainly used in quarry operations, from one of the blast sites.

No group claimed immediate responsibility for the blasts. However, sources in the Union Home Ministry said that the hand of local cadre of banned SIMI was suspected to be behind the blasts and the expertise in assembling the low intensity devices possibly being provided by Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh strongly condemned the serial blasts and asked the people to remain calm and maintain communal harmony. He announced Rs.one lakh ex-gratia to the next of kin of each of the deceased.

Ever wondered what exactly controls all those mobile call that we make? We see huge towers installed on top of buildings, ground level towers going all the way up to 70 feet or so. But is it just that tower made of steel and some antenna's the one that controls all of that calls, texts and GPRS stuff? Nope. Thanks to a kind Engineer from a telecom company who let me see the real gadget. The gadget that does it all in a telecom network. The picture is on the right........

This machine or server can handle up to 464 callers at one shot!!! Each slot is called a 'TRM'. These servers have a configuration of 4 x 4 configuration i.e. 4 slots horizontal and 4 sections vertical. Well ya this is all high stuff for our brains..... but the best part that is my favorite is this server is kept in a cabin which has an a/c running 24/7!!!! now that's where i would love to be!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, presenting the new look of Facebook!!! well i don't know whats so great in this facebook but ya its kind of plain. I think it would be better if you guys would check it out and just give them you feedback. I feel they have done a good job with the album thing but on the whole the main home page kind of lacks the attraction and look. Finally!!! a super upgrade from the ol shuffle (512mb) to the Ipod Nano 4GB. Right i know its like a total new upgrade but can never beat my pal Cj 160gb Ipod Classic. Its huge!!!

what a day!!! that's what my best buddy Cj has left me with in my mind. A sudden plan in the morning at 9 a.m (yawn right) but hey the plan was really random over a chat and there we were in the bus to mangalore to catch on 'Kungfu Panda'!!! Well ya the bus ride was awesome, thanks to Kristoffer,Martin (Cj's Love, they actually sat together for a whole movie), Andre, Robert and how could i forget FU (the master of deep thoughts)!!! Well ya FU preferred the first seat in the bus while we were getting our butt kicked on the last seat!!! awesome!!! Reached mangalore after a long bumpy journey and there we were right in Pizza Hut enjoying some normal pizza. All stuffed but that was not enough, we head off to Cafe Coffee Day right on the same floor to catch up on some relaxing coffee while Cj and me bumped into the most awesome dude ever - Meehal!!! ok that's it there, I'm out of words to describe. Fine so we were done with our round of coffee, and we head off for the movie. Man the movie was awesome and the proof is FU laughing even if the panda farted!!! gosh, but the movie did have some great moves and scenes you would surely enjoy. Great day, great movie and great friends to hang out with........thanks Cj

A place with the best diet sandwiches which would satisfy you anyday!!! Talk about the tuna sandwich and i could feel my mouth water till there was a river formed. Well this place was the most awaited ever in mangalore and when the mall had a banner 'coming soon', you could hear the buzz and excitement across the city!!! Months of pleasure at this place and awesome sandwiches.... and one day....

ALIENS ZAPPED SUBWAY!!! there was nothing there!!! just an empty space!!! the mall guys had no clue where this counter disappeared!!! It seems the bones of the servers were boiled by the aliens and added as a 'subway special' on their food menu in Planet ZAP ZAAP!!! Nightmare for us humans....

Wonder what might happen to the one in Manipal???? will it be zapped next?????
